Rex Allen, Sr. - The Arizona Cowboy

Rex Allen Sr. grew up in Wilcox, Arizona. An influential singer in the Western Music Scene, he rose to prominence and became the country's number one box office attraction. We'll never forget the Arizona Cowboy and his many contributions to Western entertainment.

This is a classic Western album, pure and simple. Rex's signature "Streets of Laredo" is there, along with his "Arizona Cowboy" introduction from his shows. This album also has some comically delivered morality in "Braggin' Drunk from Willcox."  Like many of the old time entertainers, Rex went into the studio and recorded his work without retakes or careful concept planning as is done today. The album's topped off with the traditional fiddle medley (sometimes called a Bunkhouse Orchestra) that used to be in all Western albums. Take a journey back to those ol' dry desert trails with Rex...you won't regret it
