John Wayne: Rio Bravo
Wall Plaque with Black Frame
This plaque commemorates John Wayne and his role in the Western "Rio Bravo". The plaque contains a picture of John Wayne as Sheriff John T. Chance, a replica of the badge he wore in the movie, and a short writeup on Rio Bravo. The text of that piece reads as follows:
In the 1959 film Rio Bravo John Wayne portrays Sheriff John T. Chance who with the help of his misfit deputies have to keep custody of a murderer whose brother is a powerful rancher. Sheriff Chance must hold the prisoner and protect the townsfolk from the rancher's hired guns until the Marshal arrives. His deputies consist of a cantankerous cripple, Stumpy, and a disgraced drunk, Dude, and with the assistance of a young gunslinger, Colorado, they were able to keep the peace. As in several of John Wayne's films there is an underlying theme of male camaraderie. The badge shown here is an exact replica of the one worn by Sheriff John T. Chance in Rio Bravo.
The plaque comes set in an attractive low gloss black frame. The overall dimensions of the plaque are 14 1/2 inches tall and 18 1/2 inches wide.
